Poorva started learning music at the age of 8 at the prestigious Gandharva Mahavidyalaya New Delhi. A recipient of the Senior Artist scholarship from the Ministry of Culture (CCRT), Poorva has traveled across the globe as a part of Music choirs.

- Recipient of National Scholarship to Young Artist 2018 by Ministry of Culture, Govt of India.
- Recipient of the Sahitya Kala Parishad Fellowship 2015-17 for music from the Govt. of Delhi.
- Performed in the Youth Festival at Central Park, Connaught Place on 5th March 2018 as SKP fellowship awardee.
- Toured across US and UK in June-July 2017 as part of the prestigious Gandharva choir conducted by Pandit Madhup Mudgal. The month long tour covered various cities like Boston, Houston, Washington (Serenade Choral Festival) in US and Manchester, London, Bristol, Liverpool and various others in the UK.
- Toured across India as part of the prestigious Gandharva Choir conducted by Pt. Madhup Mudgal. The venues include Kalakshetra, Chennai, Bhaanukul, Dewas, Gandharva Mahavidyayalaya, Pune, Mahagami Gurukul, Aurangabad and various others.
- Received KN Mulay Scholorship for music in March 2017.
- Given a 30 minute solo music recital at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre (Udgamam Festival) and received a positive review from the famous journalist Manjari Sinha in The Hindu in 2011.
- Visited Germany and Austria as part of Cultural Exchange programs in 2011 and 2007.
- Performed lead role of narrator in the two hours musical extravaganza, Joseph and his amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat during school annual day in 2012.
- Received a music scholarship from State Trading Corporation under â??Scholarship to young music artistsâ?? in 2013.
- Backup vocalist in one of the leading Indian bands- Euphoria, between June and December 2015.
- Professionally recorded music for Amal Alanâ??s theatre group which has toured globally.
- President of Dhwani- the Indian Music Society of Lady Shri Ram College in the year 2015-16. Composed a 20 minute piece based on Raag Bihag. Won various competitions across India.
- Received the Prem Vallabh Joshi Prize for Excellence in Indian Music at LSR.
- Gave a solo recital on the occasion of Saraswati Puja in Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Delhi in 2012.
- Part of the Mozart choir of India which toured Austria in 2007.

The news is- there is no upper limit to learning. Music is a vast ocean and there's always more to learn. However, one can start from somewhere and render music beautifully and make even a little bit seem like a whole. That's the beauty of music. All the best!

Group classes will be helpful in the beginning- when you are getting introduced to the world of music. Group classes will also help you check whether you are able to grasp well and help mould your interest in Hindustani classical music. 

Once you start liking them, you could switch to individual lessons by choosing an appropriate Guru- who specialises in the repitoire that you're willing to learn.
