Why doesn't Sangeet Natak Akademinot recognize Chhau dance as a classic form of dance?

The real recognition for any dance to be a classical dance comes from the Sangeet Natak Academy(SNA). So Chhau had not been recognised by the SNA as a classical art form. Other dances apart from Chhau that have been recognised as Classical by the Ministry of Culture and not by the SNA are Ghoomar, Thang tha, Gaurdiya Nritya. read less

I am 18+ now.Though I have never learned dancing I am very much interested amd passionate about learning Bharatnatyam or Kathak but I lack confidence as people of my age are already very good dancers.Moreover,now I have pressure of my studies. So how can I start learning any one of the classical dance forms as soon as possible?

Hi, I have not learnt dancing before though I have passion for music. I feel little hesitant dancing when I go to cubs or pubs. Specially dancing with friends who are girls since i am not aware of the steps. I am wondering if any one can be assist for me. I m 26 but i m fit and belong from a sports background. Thnx.
