It is....!! It is the classical dance form from Uttar Pradesh. The origin of Kathak is traditionally attributed to the traveling bards in ancient northern India known as Kathakars or storytellers.

I am 18+ now.Though I have never learned dancing I am very much interested amd passionate about learning Bharatnatyam or Kathak but I lack confidence as people of my age are already very good dancers.Moreover,now I have pressure of my studies. So how can I start learning any one of the classical dance forms as soon as possible? 
Hey.... U can learn dance in any age... I m doing PhD in dance.... And teaching from many years... I have students of age 3 to 55+also .. And I think dance is an art which can be learnt at any point...

Hi, I have not learnt dancing before though I have passion for music. I feel little hesitant dancing when I go to cubs or pubs. Specially dancing with friends who are girls since i am not aware of the steps. I am wondering if any one can be assist for me. I m 26 but i m fit and belong from a sports background. Thnx.
hi Abhishek , those who have passion for music they have rhythm in them so don't worry .. accept your self the way you are.. dance for yourself don't dance for anyone else.. i am sure learning basic...
