Because of the Earth's rotation. That is due to the Earth's rotation. The Earth rotates toward the East; that makes the stars seem to move towards the West.

In Earth's sky, the Sun, Moon, and stars appear to move from east to west because of the rotation of Earth (so-called diurnal motion).
