Carnatic concentrates more on taala...whereas hindustani music is more on raaga and it's aalap

The presentation style for vocal and instrumental differs. Carnatic music is compared to a King in dynasty by its own style of singing the swaras.. Hidusthani Music is compared to the queen in dynasty by its own style of singing light, soft, classical and gentle.
