I am working for a support project in a service based company. I have 9 months of experience. But I am not happy with the work. I want to quit this job after a year and move to development. Currently I am learning python and want to learn Django. Is it enough to know this? I am confused. Can I move to development? What efforts I need to make and what technologies I need to know? Could you please provide suggestions.

Hi. If you are not happy with the current job, then why do you want to continue even for one day?
If you don't love what you do, even if you add days to your current job, it's of no use instead of wasting your time and also wasting the organization resources & funds.
Please take a day or 2 and look at what you want to do in your life. What is going to be your future after doing the courses you mentioned. Look at all the possibilities and then tey to frame out a career path for yourself. Set your targets and go ahead.
Most important of all, take accountability for your actions.
\First and foremost, think about why you are not happy with your job? Is it because of the work environment or the work itself? And from your question, it looks you are not happy with the work. Are you sure you will be happy with moving to development? It is easy to do some random courses with an expectation to join some cool IT company. But things will not work that way when it comes to career. You need to honestly assess what makes you tick and then decide what you want to do. I would suggest talking to some industry professionals and then decide the next course of action!!

Hi Deepthi,
Django is a web framework in Python, and yes, you can move to the web-development path after doing it. But as others rightly suggested, start with basics and slowly move to advanced concepts like memory-profiling, decorators, OOPS.
I also suggest you take a look through Flask. It is simple compared to Django and should be fast to get you started.
I hope this helps!
