Dear Aparna, In order to get admission in NITs you will have to crack IIT-JEE Mains exams which to be held on 3rd April all across the country. Exam regulation body CSAB has suggested that the admissions should be done solely on the basis of JEE Main scores, and that the 40 percent weightage granted to Class 12 scores for admissions to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs)and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs) other than IITs may be done away with. The CSAB is part of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority 2015 (JoSAA 2015), which conducted the first ever joint admission process this year. It comprised of 87 institutes, including 18 IITs, the Indian School of Mines Dhanbad (ISM Dhanbad), 31NITs, 18 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and 18 other GFTIs. read less
