Radhika Rajivkumar is an accomplished dancer of repute in the Bharatanatyam style of Indian Classical dance. A post graduate degree holder in Bharathanatyam (M.F.A) & Economics (M.A), she has shown keen interest in classical dancing right from childhood. She has taken her training in Mumbai from prominent Gurus of Bharatanatyam. She has staged several dance performances in Mumbai and other cities and won many prizes and accolades. Training in Bharatanatyam Radhika received her initial training from Guru Kalamandalam Shri Ananda Narayanan, a prominent Bharatanatyam Guru from Kerala. She further acquired training from well known musician and dancer, Guru Ramaswamy Bhagavatar (disciple of Sri. Kannappa Bharatham Narayanaswamy and Sri. Vazhuvur Ramaiah Pillai) Radhika further undertook her advanced training in Bharatanatyam from Guru Smt. Vimala Nair (a very senior disciple of Late Guru Kalaimamani Kadhirvelu Pillai and Padmabhusan Kalanidhi Narayanan of Chennai). Radhika upgrades her skills by regularly attending workshops conducted by eminent Gurus. Performances Radhika performed her Arangetram at the Sree Guruvayoor Temple, Kerala in 1995. In her student days, she has participated in various Youth Festivals and dance competitions. Her performance has earned her acclaim for their high professional standards and for the quality and purity of her dance style. Her dance recitals at Music Academy (Chennai), Mamamgam â?? 2000 (Peoples Arts Center, Mumbai), Every Friday Cultural Evening Programme hosted by ICCR (Bangalore) are considered memorable ones. She regularly performs at various temples and dance festivals across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala & Tamilnadu. She won the title â??Singar-Maniâ?? from the Sur Singar Samsad for her performances during the Sur Singar Samelan held at Mumbai. Her performance for the Television channels (Asianet & Asianet Global) has earned her global credit. Through such outstanding performances, she has earned a well deserved position among the front ranking dance artists of today. Radhika is also engaged in training Bharatanatyam to young aspirants through her institution, â??Nrityapriya Dance Academyâ??.
