It's usually of big volume. Some people mis conceptualize by thinking that big data is all about huge amount of data. Suppose if you are recording your height by every 10 min for last 5 years. Though it generates large amount of data, it can not be big data, because it is lacking the variety. Likewise, it needs to fullfill the aforesaid characteristics to be called big data. Some people think also exploring pattern is also part of big data. That is not also true. Data is one thing & its analysis is different thing. Don't confuse them. read less
