Learning her first steps when she was a child, Bijal Haria has danced her way to Parampara Academy of performing arts, her dream centre for training in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and folk dances of Gujarat to young dance learners.
Bijal has her own shining examples of rigorous training she has received - first from Ms Smita Shastri of Nartan School of Classical Dances, Ahmedabad, then from Dr Sandhya Purecha, Director, Bharata College of Fine Arts and Culture, Mumbai, affiliated to Kavi Kulaguru Kalidas University, Nagpur – to hold to her students. Not satisfied with her initial Diplomas, she joined Bharata College and obtained Masters in Fine Arts (MFA). Her doctoral research under the guidance of Dr Purecha has been on the classical dance tradition a Sanskrit classical text enunciates.
Fired by the passion to keep enhancing her own proficiency in the dance forms, she also has the temperament to get her students to learn dance comprehensively, in theory and practice, with dedication. She counts on her modest experience of guiding dance learners at Nartan School and Shashikkunj Art and Culture Academy.
