"MUSIC TEACHER WITH MORE THAN 4 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE"

If you’re talking about breaking music down scientifically, yes; there are two fields I’d start with: Music psychology is the study of how the human brain processes music and how we evolved to hear and create music. Acoustics is the study of the various physical aspects of sound, and...

Acoustics is the study of the various physical aspects of sound, and you’ll find a lot of explanations of aspects of music, like harmony, here. Your wording - “physical existence” - is a bit odd… you won’t find anything talking about music’s “physical existence,” but I think music psychology and acoustical science probably have most of the information you’re hoping for. read less

Vocal music remains a mystery from a scientific point of view due to several factors: 1. **Complexity of Human Voice Production**: The human voice involves intricate interactions between the vocal cords, resonating cavities, and articulators (like the tongue and lips). Understanding how these components work together to produce specific sounds and tonal qualities is complex. 2. **Subjectivity of Musical Perception**: Music's emotional and aesthetic effects are highly subjective. How individuals perceive and react to different musical elements—such as pitch, harmony, and rhythm—can vary greatly, making it challenging to study scientifically. 3. **Cultural Variability**: Music is deeply embedded in cultural contexts, and different cultures have distinct musical systems and styles. This diversity adds layers of complexity to understanding universal principles of vocal music. 4. **Neuroscientific Challenges**: While progress has been made in understanding how the brain processes music, the neural mechanisms underlying musical appreciation and creation are not fully understood. The emotional and cognitive responses to music involve multiple brain areas and pathways. 5. **Interdisciplinary Nature**: Studying vocal music effectively often requires integrating knowledge from various fields, including music theory, psychology, acoustics, and neuroscience. This interdisciplinary approach can be challenging and requires collaboration among experts from different domains. Overall, while advances in science and technology continue to shed light on various aspects of vocal music, the interplay of biological, psychological, and cultural factors means that many elements of music remain elusive. read less
