I have cleared IAS Prelims four times and spent more than seven years of my life preparing for this Exam.

Civil services Mentor & Coach with 7 years of Experience

There are No Height criteria to attempt this exam. You can happily prepare for this exam. Height criteria come up only for I.P.S. Selection.

How to know the exam pattern of UPSC exam ?
Nothing just search for upsc recent exam syllabus in Google search with the related job posting , usually it has aptitude and reasoning part for the first part exam and the related English and technical syllabus theory for part to exam.

what are the basic time preparation for ias ??
It depends on the schedule you are comfortable with. On an average 8 hours daily for 6 months can help you befriend with the subjects concerned. A good mentor is also required throughout.
