First go through the UPSC syllabus and at least last 5-7 years PYQs rigorously. You can have the idea what UPSC demands from you and you can understand the thought process of paper setters..

IITian with 4 years of experience in UPSC

You just need to be a graduate or about to be graduated before UPSC mains exam. Age criteria is 32(genral),35(OBC )and 40(SC/ST) with respective categories.

I know root cause for not acheiving the things correctly ,because I works alots for it from 5yrs.
