But, the syllabus is much varied across the streams of social studies, as well as science, international relations etc. while some of the subjects are taught only at specialization level (M.Sc, M.Phil. onwards). Self-study is the key to crack UPSC. But it is equally important to have a good idea of the key concepts. So, I would advise for having a thorough coaching for at least a year. read less

Both options are equally good. It depends on your interest and skills. M.Sc is more into the how and why part while MCA is application oriented. That is MCA is more towards the usage of existing technologies...
