The minimum eligibility to write the UGC NET exam in India is as follows: 1. *Age Limit*: There is no upper age limit for the UGC NET exam. 2. *Education Qualification*: - For General Category: Master's degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks (without rounding off) from a recognized university. - For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: Master's degree or equivalent with at least 50% marks (without rounding off) from a recognized university. 3. *Subjects*: The candidate should have studied the subject they are applying for in their Master's degree or equivalent. 4. *Appearing Candidates*: Candidates who are in the final year of their Master's degree or equivalent can also apply, but they need to complete their degree within two years from the date of the NET result declaration. 5. *Ph.D. Holders*: Candidates who have completed their Ph.D. degree can apply, but they will be exempted from the eligibility criteria of 55% or 50% marks.
