For UGC NET (Assistant Professor post) there is so far no upper limit to the number of attempts.

Earlier I wanted to become a doctor, but later on due to family and all I jumped into engineering. What is eligiblity for appearing in net exam 2016 and when it"ll be held. As I have done my masters in Sanskrit and b.ed from Hindi history so for which subject I prefer for net. I have 55% in my b.ed . Am eligible or nit.
So June 2016 exam will be conducted and online application will be given on April or May month. you can appear on your PG degree subject only.

Is it necessary to take UGC NET coaching?
Well it totally depends on you. To conclude that you can solve previous year question papers and get an idea where you stand. If the concepts are not clear you must take coaching because at the end its conceptual based exam.
