Both IDP and British Council organise IELTS. The only difference is who will provide you with the certificate, but the examination level and scale are the same.

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. It is used Worldwide as an entry gate for pursuing higher education. Students from all across the globe are utilizing it.Both are similar as far as test level is concerned. One arbitrary piece of advice is that appear from smaller town for the test for IELTS. It may positively affect your result provided your knowledge is sufficient to clear the test. But there is a risk of not having good staff. The decision is barter. read less

The University of Cambridge does not conduct IELTS test, but the university creates the test and deliver it to IELTS Australia who in turn allow British council and IDP Australia to facilitate the same examination all over the world.It means the test does not belong to Cambridge, British council or IDP Australia. Later two organisations are the facilitator of the test owned by IELTS; hence the test is the same all over the world.I hope you get your answer. read less
