You can prepare for both GRE and TOEFL at the same time. GRE verbal reasoning is similar to TOEFL reading. GRE vocabulary is at a higher level. So prepare yourself on GRE vocabulary more. You can prepare for both GRE and TOEFL at the same time. GRE verbal reasoning is similar to TOEFL reading. GRE vocabulary is at a higher level. So prepare yourself on GRE vocabulary more. The skills and questions are similar on verbal reasoning and reading of the two exams. Alternate between the TOEFL speaking and writing tests and GRE essay writing. TOEFL can be treated as a warm up to GRE. Start timing yourself once you have prepared enough on the above. That will give you an idea on your skills and speed. read less
