Yes,spoken English is important for a mechanical fresher.Though the level of necessity depends on the job role. Mechanical freshers might spoken English for networking , carrier growth , technical presentation, learning and development etc.

Irrespective of any background Spoken English is necessary. As a mechanical fresher one can communicate all machine functionary, parts configurations, manual operation, installation, callibration efectively as and when necessary for smooth functioning of an organisation.
