There are many idioms, phrases and quotes on shoes. "It isn't the mountain ahead that wears you out; it's the grain of sand in your shoe" "A woman carries her clothes. But the shoe carries the woman" Can You Share an interesting shoe-incident in your life or an idiom or a phrase? A shoe anecdote: I had to trek bare-footed to my school till my school final. Three kilometers from my house to a Railway station, then travel by train, and finally from there to school by walk along the railway track. Once my neighbour's son of my age bought a pair of new branded shoes. It didn't fit him, the shoe that fits one person pinches another. One fine morning his mother told me to try it out and it neither pinched or bit me. I was very happy to get into my neighbour's shoes. She told me that she would take her son's permission and offer it to me. The permission was granted and the message was passed on to my mother. I used to visit her house daily thinking that she would tell me to take it. To my bad luck she forgot the mega offer to me. My ego didn't permit me to ask her. Crying baby gets the milk. I didn’t cry, It went on for one year. The shoe gathered dust and finally disappeared, might be to a dust-bin. I bought variety of imported shoes once I started earning. But that Longing of my neighbour's shoes, which fitted me without any pinch, still PINCHES me. No state of the art shoes would replace that longing.
