Start by reading newspapers, learn atleast five new words each day, use a dictionary to find the meaning of new words. Watch English news channels, and try to use the newly learnt words in practice. Speak to others in English, that would be a start to help you improve your spoken English.

If one starts a class on one to one basis, find a good tutor who can provide you with detailed grammar concepts and give you various examples overall everything, official / business vocabulary, as well as personnal communication both is very important, cause one needs to understand when to speak what. You also need to understand the various meaning one verb word can carry when to connect to another with tenses, you also need to read out lots of Adjective words cause words play the most integral part in constructing your sentence (short & sweet).
