Hi Aparna. First & foremost, you need to have a VERY STRONG DESIRE to learn and speak good English. If you can enroll for a Spoken English class, it will help you learn the basics and thumb rules of the language. But having learnt, you must consciously decide to speak with your friends (despite their teasing you!) in English. One good idea is to identify friends who don't know your language and initiating a conversation with them. This way you will be compelled to converse and only if you do this everyday, will you find it improving.Parallely, read atleast 1 or 2 news articles and check for meanings & pronunciation of new words. Importantly, try to use these new words in your sentences; else, you will forget their meaning. Best Wishes! read less
