the teacher must be fluent in spanish and also entertaining so that the class is not boring otherwise you'll loose interest.

There should be a balance between the two. Listening is equally important as reading. Reading gives you insight of the theory, enhances your vocabulary and keeps you aware of the Grammar of that language...

Depends on your interest. Its generally 20 classes where per class you spend 2 hours and then a lot of practice and study.
