My interest in teaching was developed in IX standard when I taught a Maths Chapter to my friends n classmates individually. Later in X standard on the Teachers Day, I was given an opportunity to teach a junior class. I chose class V. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching them as I used fun ways and different methods to stimulate their thinking.
I started teaching my niece and her friend while I was studying my masters in commerce. I taught them for 1 year. While I was working in Human Resource department I enjoyed training adults.
Post my marriage I shifted to Pune and took Tuition for class VI.
I like to teach through examples, practical training, videos, audios training. I have come across many tuition classes who only focus on the school homework or just learning or by hearting the answers. I hate to do this. I ask the pupil to read the chapters and then I explain them the meaning of it.Because I feel the students should know what they are learning, why they are learning.
I like interacting with different people, this helps me give proper examples to students relating to their syllabus.
Not all students are interested in studying. So considering their field of interest, I try to create their interest in studies. For small children songs, dance, various funny expressions is the best way to teach. For teenagers current social topics, discussion, practicals is the best way.
The most important thing in teaching is that it makes you learn many things alongwith the subject you are teaching.
Teaching has made me more patient, more calmer. It has improved my listening and communication skills.
