Tutors qualifications doesn't really matter if he's experienced and has good track record of sucessful students. Generally qualified musicians are well trained so they can deliver to their studnets. Good players not necessarily be always good teachers IMO. Judge your teacher in terms of your progrrss. If you see progress in your playing then fine.... And yes 500 per session is okay.
