Is it worth spending 2000 per month for a private guitar tuitor, the teacher claims he will teach me ear training also? Please reply asap, thanks

In my opinon you definitely need a teacher to prevent you from developing bad habits but the price is too high in my opinion (though I do not know your level or the teacher's quality of lesson).
And about the ear training I think if you are above 16 it is not mandatory to have a teacher for your ear training. You just have to practice hearing the different intervals, chords etc for atleast 30 mins a day to improve your relative pitch.
read lessThe very first thing you should find is whether the teacher is a qualified teacher from any international university like trinity college of London or associated board of royal schools of music london I. Also check the year of experience.. Should be minimum 25 years.. Ear training comes only when you appear for any graded practical music exams by the London University..

I can not comment on the rate. But ear tuning is a lengthy self generating process. No one can guarantee that he can tune some students ear, the tutor can help a bit only. To make it happen the only solution is the student has to listen songs and music as much as possible, more time is required for listening than learning of any instrument be it guitar, keyboard etc. it is said 70% listening & 30% practical learning process. Once you learn the basics and comfortable in playing chord progression, musical notations clearly, then try to play any song by hearing it. Gradually you would learn on your own and ear will be tuned as well in due course of time. I can say that ear tuning is completed only when you are in a position to write the complete notation, chord progression, bass line etc. of any songs by simply listening to it. Its absolutely my view from experience. Cheers
