You did not mention science or commerce, it is always possible to pass and do well without taking any tuitions . You have to be highly desciplined and hard working. Many many online resources are available which you can utilise together with the input from your school.

For boards and competitive exams tuition class is an opportunity to clear your doubts/queries in an informal way, which at times difficult in school. Since objective of a tuition class is to help you perform, you wil have more practice sessions, mock tests etc which is again not feasible in school.Finally, it is an investment, so to get the return you have to be desciplined.
