Bhatkhande is one of the most difficult examinations and also highly reputed. Gandharv Mahavidyalaya comes next. These exams can be taken from any where in the country. All you need is the right coaching to clear these examinations. For the right coaching you outta find an institute of music academy that specializes in preparing students for these examinations.

First of all congratulations for choosing such immaculate dance forms, you're gonna have fun. These are not just dances, they're lifestyle's. If anyone says I know how to Kathak, it's a flawed assumption. Kathak or Bharatnatyam are like religion's, people including the GurusG spend lives to learn and always remain a student.
Hence there isn't any age, gender, time or season to start living a new lifestyle. Also if you like it, then you might supersede your Contemporaries very soon.

Happy learn about your interest in performing arts. Though 20 days is a very short period to touch upon any performing art, that also doesn't mean you can't start with one.
To learn an instrument or a dance form in a short time frame like this doesn't seem fruitful, as you'd need to practice and be monitored later as well.
The only possiblly interesting field seems learning Vocal Mysuc or Singing.
1. You don't need to buy or care for another instrument
2. It can not only be enriching in terms of improving voice tones and pitches ...but also can be rejuvenating.
3. You can easily practice it at home without any need for an instrument, loud speaker or a studio with mirrors.

If you want to learn an instrument, there is no other way of going about it.
But you can delay the purchase. For example when a student starts learning drums at our institute, we usually suggest practice with a simple pad and sticks. Once you're beyond that 4 to 6 months mark, you can also practice at home. But till then the drums et at our academy is enough
