I am Himadri Debnath, a seasoned teacher with 20 years of experience in Indian classical music, light music, and bhajans. My specialization lies in Hindustani classical vocal music, and I have a deep-rooted passion for music that has been a part of my family legacy for generations. I have spent years mastering the art of classical music and am now excited to share this knowledge with students through both offline and online lessons.
I am a Visharad graduate in Hindustani classical vocal music and have had the privilege of training students at Ghandarva Mahavidyala, where I honed my skills and gained substantial teaching experience. My musical journey has been shaped by my family, who has been involved in classical music for generations. This strong musical background has been the foundation of my career and continues to inspire me in my teaching.
Apart from vocal music, I also have proficiency in playing tabla and guitar, which further enhances my understanding of music and rhythm. Over the years, I have gained a rich knowledge of various aspects of Indian classical music, which I integrate into my lessons. My teaching is not limited to theory alone; I focus on a practical approach, ensuring that students get hands-on experience with their instruments and voice.
I have performed in numerous shows and have had the honor of winning the district-level championship in tabla. These performances have given me invaluable experience, which I now share with my students. By teaching them how to prepare for performances and competitions, I help them build confidence and refine their skills.
Currently, I am offering online lessons, where I teach students vocal music through interactive sessions. Each class lasts 40 to 45 minutes, focusing on a balanced mix of theory and practical exercises. My lessons are designed to cater to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced, and I provide notes and learning materials to aid their progress.
For students preparing for Visharad certification or those aiming to improve their performance skills, I offer certificate courses and exam preparation. These sessions are structured to ensure that students receive a comprehensive understanding of both Indian classical music theory and practical techniques, which are essential for formal certification.
As a teacher, I believe in nurturing the student's natural musical abilities while also instilling discipline and dedication. I use a variety of audio and video resources to enhance the learning experience and ensure that students grasp concepts effectively.
