It depends on the use case. J2EE is better for large, complex enterprise applications, while Ruby on Rails is faster for rapid development and simpler projects.

Java has more personnel and significant resources. Hence, it is more secure than Ruby on Rails. Java is more secure because it was created to be used in enterprise applications. Ruby on Rails should be avoided if security is your top concern
