Both are important. There is great importance for both individuals as well as the overall score in IELTS. Having stated that, let's divide each section and ascertain the preparation to get to the sweet spot of the high scoring band. In listening, you can use the CD provided by the official guide to practise for the section. After carefully reading the manual for the details on that section, it would be easier to identify a few areas for improvement by reading through the book. You have to pay careful attention to the details like the spelling of people's names and places. Keeping focus to the details like the day of the week, date and time as you listen to the conversations. You have to keep in mind that even if you get confused on a question, you have to move to the next question. Next is reading, this would be the most challenging section as there is no other route except for practising. Usage of synonyms will be of great help. Writing can be a scoring section if you practice writing at least four essays for both tasks. You can also improve your vocabulary but also add many ideas to a wide range of topics/. Lastly, For speaking, the best way is to practice by watching videos of sample IELTS tests online. Only your name is verified for authenticity. You have to stay honest and truthful, but be colourful while answering complex words and sentences Hope this helps and All the Best! read less
