If it is the Ielts general test, you will have to write a letter for task -1, a formal or informal of minimum 150-words. for task -2 , you will be asked to write an essay on a certain topic where you will be required to discuss your or advantages disadvantages, maybe validate your opinion with relevant examples or offer suggestions for betterment. For this task a word limit of minimum 250 is mandatory. Incase of Ielts academic test your task one will comprise of a visual data, which could be a diagram, map, a bar/ pie chart, line graph, tabular chart or image of a machine, device It's component parts and the various steps of its functions...you will have to view each detail carefully and write your observation...minimum word limit 150. Task -2 will again require you to write an essay similar to what I explained above,only exception being that the topics for the Ielts academic test are a little more varied. For completing both tasks you will have 60 minutes. Specifically 20 minutes for task -1 and 40 minutes for task -2. read less
