Hi Thimma TOEFL and IELTS are competitive exams. They are therefore challenging. It is difficult only when preparation is not as per required standard. The same holds good for any exam. All the Best! Thanks.

TOEFL and IELTS both test the same language skills Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. What could possibly make one exam easier than the other is your comfort zone while taking the test. Ielts is a paper based test where you have to write the essay as opposed to typing in TOEFL. TOEFL is a complete computer based exam where you need to be comfortable operating the same, going back and forth between questions and also type at a decent speed to finish your essays in time. Reading a passage on a screen in TOEFL versus reading from a paper in IELTS is a difference that some people may have to consider. One more important difference is the speaking section. In TOEFL you are expected to talk into a mix with no human supervision whereas in IELTS there is an examiner who administers the speaking section in a one on one interview format. For many test takers speaking in front of a person is more challenging than speaking into a mic. To sum up, both tests can be attempted with ease if there is enough practice and proper guidance. However, there are a few minor differences in test mode which may be important factors for some test takers. read less
