Both public and private universities of Germany accepts TOEFL or IELTS Academic or PTE. MOI (medium of instructions) is also acceptable in a few universities in Germany. Both public and private universities of Germany accepts TOEFL or IELTS Academic or PTE. MOI (medium of instructions) is also acceptable in a few universities in Germany. If you are applying based on IELTS Academic, then you will require 6.5 overall bands no less than 6 in any module. For TOEFL score should be more than 80. Having stated that, as a part of the language requirement, most of the German universities will accept TOEFL or ielts scores as reference. Other universities may opt for just GRE scores. The minimum acceptable TOEFL score varies from 71 to 81 and more than 6.0 in IELTS. Exemptions from TOEFL/IELTS are allowed for students from native English speaking countries. read less

Hello Guru, Most German universities accept both IELTS and TOEFL scores. But please be informed that the criteria might change based on the univeristy requirements.
