IELTS is a kind of an exam that you cannot clear just by reading one day or one week before. You'll need constant preparation, a lot of dedication and effort to get the desired band score in reading or any other section in IELTS. There are some ways in which you can improve your reading skills. They are: 1. Usually, the passages for reading tests are taken from Magazines like Nation Geographic or the Economist. If you're not already familiar with such reading styles, then you'll need to start practising reading such articles every day. 2. Focus on reading and understanding the text first, then you can answer the questions quickly and clearly. 3. Learn to skim through the paragraph so that you pick up only the important stuff. You don't have to pronounce the problematic terms and waste time. 4. Most of the time, the main idea of the text or the paragraph is located towards the end of the paragraph. So, you need to keep an eye and pay attention to details. 5. Do not waste time on one single question. If you are not able to answer that, move on to the next one. You can deal with that one later. Do practice of giving in only 20 minutes to this section. read less

My suggestion is to get the help of an excellent trainer to know well about the techniques and strategies to deal with different types of questions and the order to do questions. And also to know about the tricks and traps that will be so professionally hidden with a real purpose.
