Yes, it is an excellent idea to improve your linguistic skills. In IELTS training, you will be trained in four domains viz. Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing, which in turn will surely improve your English language skills. Whether you are planning to fly abroad or not, IELTS can be used to develop one's language too. Many people with good English find it hard to score well in IELTS. It is because IELTS is one such test that requires not only good English but also demands specific skills like analyzing skills, summarising skills, concluding the essays, retention of the information and more. Remember, all these skills require a lot of training and practice to master it. If you want to increase your English language skills on your own, then always remember to practice it. Talk in English as much as you can, listen to singers like Backstreet boys' song "show me the meaning" & "Everything but mine. Watch American and British shows to get the hang of their accent, sentence structures, use of idioms etc. read less
