Goa Education Trust Scholarship Criteria: Excellent academic record, 30 years (maximum age limit) This open scholarship was previously only for Goan students. Now, it extends to all candidates belonging to India. It’s an initiative of Dempo and the Fomento Group, Goa Education Trust and British Council. The scholarship funds a part of Master course at U.K. with fees not exceeding GBP 12500. Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan Criteria: Candidates who have already been abroad for education or training purpose. However, they need to physically be in India, when applying for this scholarship. Funded by the Commonwealth Scholarships Commission, every year 65 nominations are sent for this scholarship, while only 26 are sanctioned. This covers economy return international travel, adequate maintenance or other allowances and tuition fee for students in the field of agriculture, science, engineering, humanities and social sciences. Commonwealth scholarship also extends to PhD applicants, academic and medical professionals. Charles Wallace India Trust (CWIT)Scholarship Criteria: Application is accepted in copy only. One of the oldest scholarships of the country, offers grants to Indians at the budding and advanced stage of their career, to spend time in U.K. and enhance artistic, academic and ambitious goals in any stream of culture. CWIT Scholarship records can be tracked on Charity Commission’s website. Great Scholarship Criteria: Applicable with minimum IELTS band score 6. Keeping in view the importance of students’ mobility in cultural relations, this British Council sponsored scholarship aims to promote U.K. as an education destination. You can land in top 36 U.K. based colleges with this scholarship from British Council. Presently it covers over 260 undergraduate and postgraduate courses on a variety of fields. IDP Scholarships The IDP scholarships allow Indian students to sharpen their career abroad in five countries -- Australia, U.S.A., U.K., Canada and New Zealand. The overseas scholarships are sub divided into categories like Academic Excellence, Destination Specific Scholarship, Program Specific Scholarships and Student Specific Scholarship. Eligible students can apply for any of these depending on their needs and requisites. One criteria that stands common for all of these scholarship is, your IELTS score.
