The answer to this question may vary from person to person. Some say it is easier to score in PTE Academic than the IELTS, while others disagree with the claim.

It is said that scoring in PTE is easier than IELTS. Scoring 65+ is relatively easy with seven days of practice. If you don’t know, 65+ in PTE is equivalent to 7.0 in IELTS. But even though PTE is relatively more straightforward, preparation is key to this exam. Confidence comes with proper preparation in PTE. The truth is, you need a lot of confidence to take any of these English language proficiency exams.

On the other hand, it is said that PTE is relatively fairer.  The PTE computing engine variables, evaluate everyone equally and fairly regardless of the dressing sense, ethnicity, age or even the physical appearance as it is an algorithm based unlike humans in IELTS evaluating. Therefore, there are absolutely no chances for human bias in PTE.

If you have to compare these two exams, you need to understand that PTE is purely a computer-based test. Unlike IELTS, in PTE speaking test you’ll have to speak to the computer and not to an examiner.

Hope this helps. All the best!
