Hi, Experience doesn't help much in IELTS testing, you would still be required to take a minimum band score of 5.5 - 6 (academic and general).

IELTS scores carry a huge weight and as your age increases points on age decreases and you have to make good the loss by getting a high score on IELTS which is a big challenge for most candidates like you.If you are below 40 you are lucky.
