My extensive experience in special education at two local schools connected me with many parents of special needs students, eliminating the need for advertising. Most referrals came through word of mouth, and although I had a website, it wasn't heavily used. I stayed busy, particularly during the summer, maintaining a full schedule. To tailor my instruction, I often consulted with the students' teachers to understand the areas needing focus and familiarized myself with each student's learning style. Parents frequently shared records and test results, and I documented each student's progress after sessions, providing regular updates through written reports, phone calls, or emails. Despite using technology and the internet in my sessions, I never tutored online or worked for any tutoring company, so I am not acquainted with those curriculums or methods.
