I have been involved in Carnatic music for several years and have been teaching vocal music for the past 4 years. As a teacher, I focus on: • Helping students build a strong foundation with sarali varisais, janta varisais, alankaras, geethams, and simple swarajatis • Developing clear understanding of swaras, ragas, and talas • Teaching popular varnams and beginner-level kritis • Encouraging regular practice with shruti and tala discipline • Introducing basic manodharma (improvisation) once students are ready Over the last four years, I’ve had the joy of guiding students from different age groups, helping them gain confidence in their voice, rhythm, and overall presentation. I always try to create a positive and encouraging environment, where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring music, and growing at their own pace. In addition to teaching, I continue my own advanced training and attend concerts and workshops to stay connected with the rich tradition of Carnatic music. My goal is to help every student enjoy the learning process, understand the beauty of our classical music, and build a lifelong bond with it.
