Learning guitar is easier than violin. In case of guitar you have number of frets on fretboard from which you can memorize the notes and their is no need of ear training for beginners. There's no particular reason to compare which instrument is easier or harder to learn. All musical instruments have different technique/style. Follow your heart which instruments you like the most. To master music is important with the instruments you choose.

The consensus is that guitar is an easier instrument to learn than violin, and that it takes more practice time to get to a performance-worthy level for the violin than the guitar. Violin is more difficult because of its lack of frets and its complexity in playing techniques.

both are the same easy and difficult, both instruments belongs string instrument family...both needed finger practice....both will take time bring command on it....but violin mostly represent emotions, feelings of sadness or happiness, and guitar represents positivity, Passion and energetic vibes....
