But if you're taking private classes, it is advisable that you have your guitar otherwise the tutor and the student would keep juggling the instrument amongst themselves. Also, if the student has his own guitar, he would be able to practice on his own. Plus, you get a good grip over your instrument. All in all, if you wish to learn guitar, it is advisable that you buy your own guitar. read less

For private courses, you have to have your guitar, and for the institution, it is not compulsory as every institution has its instruments, and those are for the students only. The second thing which you should know is that it is always good to play on your device just because you spend so much time on it, you know in and out of it, and most importantly every musician has a special connection with their instruments. So you can choose whether travelling light is more important to you or that connect is. read less

Hi, If you are learning from an institute then they may provide you guitar for playing at institute but still you need a guitar to practice at home. In case of private classes you need your own guitar for classes and practicing. Thank You

To build you as a guitarist

Guitar teacher could provide you a guitar for your learning but to practice at home, you should have guitar. It won't be worth if you can't practise at home which is taught in classes.

You need to check this with the tutor. I would recommend that you first get the feel of the instrument, start learning the basics and then if you think that you will be able to pursue this passion, then buy a guitar of your own...! I have seen most of the students go for these classes, unnecessarily invest their (or their parents') hard-earned money, then after few months get bored of learning and eventually, the guitar becomes a showpiece in their living room. Its a strings instrument and you need a tremendous amount of patience and dedication to learn it. If you are based out of Pune, I can help you with one such tutor. read less
