If you want to make your guitar sound better, we suggest you buy good pairs of strings. 2. The wood might influence the texture of the fretboard making it easier to hold and play. 3. As the price of your guitaras well as the strings keeps increasing, the tone (sound) it produces varies. All in all, the quality of a guitar ismostly about how comfortable with usingonewhen you play it. read less

Going with a guitar brand that has an established standard for quality is probably your safest bet. From there, just play it and see if it feels good.

Going with a guitar brand that has an established standard for quality is probably your safest bet. From there, just play it and see if it feels good. If you're looking for an cool but obscure brand, or buying from an individual on the internet, be careful. There are amazing guitar fakes that will feel great but won't hold a value past the point of payment. Buy from a authorized dealer or guitar center. Buy a big name brand with quality like Gibson or Fender. These guitars will last a lifetime. I'd also recommend buying a guitar truly made in the USA. The US made guitars are more expensive but built by Jim, Phil, Ted and personally stamped by them at the time of build. There's a million tests and also no “tests” you can perform to find if it's superior quality. Yes, I meant to say that. There are fakes that some of the most knowledgeable guitar people can't spot… but that doesn't stop them from trying. read less
