Well, by practicing 90% of the job will be done however having good grip on the theory could help you bring great variations while playing.

I would say first clear the chords your are playing. By picking every string and then work on switching the Chords

a) Shifting between two chords in different time signatures from a slow beat tempo to the max possible b) Repeating the same with the rest of the chords c) Playing all chords using a tempo ( like C-B Major etc) You should be able to be move quite faster.
