Ideally, a Steinway 9′ model D grand piano! However, it does only have one patch (although that’s pretty good), so, if they want a wider sound palette, Nord products are high quality and play well. The classic synth manufacturers, Kurzweill, Yamaha, Roland, and so-on, are also all well-used and respected. A lot comes down to personal taste and familiarity; if you really know a keyboard well, you will use that in preference to something that might be more sophisticated and expensive. read less
