Hi Sreeja! The qualification level depends on 2 things: 1. Language of the course in Germany and 2. University requirement. Check with the university first. The level varies between B1 to B2.2

Hi Sreeja, First of all let me tell you that you cannot attend a german university which offers courses in german language. You have to choose an university which offer the courses in english. Primary need of the language course is to ensure that you should not face any problem in day to day activities in Germany. So most of the colleges wants A2 level. But from my experience if you have enough time than try to complete till B2, which will make your life easy and wide up your opportunity for getting a good job with a good package. If you can communicate with your customer in Germany and get the thing done than your package will be definitely more atleast by 5-10K € yearly as compared to people who dont speak german. read less

If you are admitted in the University where medium instruction is A2 is minimum requirement. With A2 you may be able to find part-time Jobs also while you are doing your Masters. That will supplement your income plus you gain work experience in Germany. Which will help you to find a better posting after your course. When you land in Germany with your A2 or B1 you can take up German course up C1 provided by some Universities free of cost. read less
