First Clear the concepts of the subjects you are studying. There is no need for any special coaching. Get a book RK Kanodia and study it throughly according to the subjects u have in ur sem

Hi, The subjects covered included in GATE are from as early as 4th or 5th semester. Go thoroughly the syllabus of GATE and start preparing as early as possible. For ECE subjects, you can contact me for complete guidance. Regards Manpreet

6th Sem vacation would be an ideal choice to start Gate prep. This i am suggesting because till then most of the core subjects would be over in college. Furthermore your gate theoretical fundamentals will be useful in project work.

Hey Ashsish, if you want to take GATE exam, there is no need to take any coaching, just concentrate on the basics and solve problems from various books, you can also refer to following blog http://krajnishtiwari.blogspot.in/. But if you want coaching, You should start it in 5th or 6th sem.

If you any difficulty. You may also take coaching from any Gate institute / faculty. Most important thing you have to practice the numerical questions including last 10 years papers. Before 3-4 month of Exam, you should also take part in GATE test series being organised by several coaching institute. This will help you to build the confidence. Best of Luck. read less
