any quantity that has only magnitude to define it completely is caled scalar quantity, Eg: weight any quantity that requires magnitude and direction to define it completely is called vector quantity Eg: displacement(20m north)

What are the important books for GATE in ece?
My suggestion is that first take up previous 25 years of GATE questions and start preparing subject by subject. Any standard book which you studied your Engineering sufficient.
