Yes. Gate is difficult than JEE. But if you have qualified in JEE then Gate seems to be somewhat easy.

What are the important books for GATE in ece?
My suggestion is that first take up previous 25 years of GATE questions and start preparing subject by subject. Any standard book which you studied your Engineering sufficient.
